As the Manufacturing & Quality Assurance Engineer Intern, you'll have the unique opportunity to partner with supply chain and operations experts and support a dynamic team across its primary functions. You’ll have the unique opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in the many elements that contribute to the daily operations of a multi-faceted enterprise and develop critical business competencies through various tasks.

 

Internship Responsibilities:  

During this internship, you may assist with the following duties:   

  • Introducing our manufacturing operations to robotics and automation technology
  • Creating a sandbox for industrial automation technologies and identifying use cases
  • Standardize assigned equipment set-up, processes, and consumables throughout the network
  • Create and maintain standard machine set-ups and databases for specified areas, within the network
  • Assist in and manage development and set-up of new processes and products in the network labs
  • Negotiate with equipment and service vendors on specifications, pricing, and agreements
  • Coordinate and manage vendors and network labs on installation of new equipment
  • Establish and Implement standards to enable quality control of product
  • Train and mentor the activities of team members to assure compliance with procedures, and achievement of performance and quality standards; provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling
  • Support training plan development on machinery and equipment operation and upkeep
  • Coordinate across the lab network to facilitate special requests and facility equipment issues
  • Build strong partnership and influencing skills with operations, fulfillment, quality, and maintenance teams to identify advancement opportunities to the manufacturing and fulfilment processes.
  • Investigate disruptions to productivity and quality on the floor understand the potential root causes and drive the proper actions to address problem resolution.

 

Preferred Skills:  

  • 0-2 years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Automation, programming or manufacturing robotics coursework
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Experience using Manufacturing modeling, simulation, or data visualization software (PowerBI, Tableau) a plus
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and/or memos is required, as is the capacity to write similar correspondence relaying opportunities or findings.
  • Aptitude to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings is necessary.
  • Ability to concisely convey issues and recommendations across a broad audience, from associate to senior executive.
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities.

Job-Related Requirements:  

 

  • Ability to work onsite and participate in interactive onsite meetings on a regular and predictable basis.
  • Access to high-speed internet  
  • Technology will be provided  

 

Education Level:  3rd or 4th year college

 

Degree Target: Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.

 

Program Dates: June 1st to Aug 7th (You must be able to work the full 10 weeks)
