Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech?  Vishay Dale Electronics – Columbus, NE is currently seeking applicants for a Purchasing Specialist / Project Coordinator.  

Job Summary:

Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased.  Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.  Develops and maintains working relations with assigned suppliers.  Negotiates contracts and specific conditions for delivery of parts, materials, or services.  Analyzes supplier markets in order to continuously optimize procurement processes and results. Manages multiple projects to drive cost savings, supplier improvement, and to identify alternative sources for purchased products.  Assists with the scheduling of all commodity Resistor product lines while maintaining lead times based on current load guidance and capabilities.

Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology.   There are around 600 employees currently working in Columbus, NE.  We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area.

What you will be doing:

  • Enter orders into SAP and place orders with vendors.
  • Investigate potential suppliers and products, issue RFQ's as necessary.
  • Procurement of materials, parts, components, equipment, and services from suppliers.
  • Plan, review, and modify scheduling of supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Identify and drive cost savings initiatives.
  • Support other Dale division locations as needed.

What you will bring along:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
  • Five or more years of purchasing and supplier management experience preferred.  
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, Outlook, and mainframe systems a plus.
