Oversee the inspection, monitoring and compliance of ITS maintenance contracts, interpret contract provisions, resolve routine contract issues, manage inventory issues, monitor contract expenditures and provide input in the development of ITS contracts. Provide contract oversight and technical guidance to field personnel.
How you will contribute:
Program Awareness: Participate in construction project meetings to stay abreast of planned work that will create equipment and system outages. Monitor field change requests and identify and or evaluate deviations from plans to ensure project management is made aware to mitigate negative impacts on the project.
Site visits: Conduct site visits to monitor and evaluate contract performance ensuring that work is performed in accordance with contractual language, MOT requirements as outlined in Virginia Work Area Protection Manual, Agency guidelines and maintenance procedures. Provide inventory management oversight ensuring compliance to Agency standards.
System Status: Manage system downtime requests to minimize effects of required work. Coordinate downtime requests and serve as point of contact documenting system and equipment statuses. Stay abreast of system availability and events that potentially jeopardize system availability
Technical resource: Serve as a technical resource at plan development phase of projects within area of responsibility. Participate in project meetings to provide input ensuring that requirements are addressed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of ITS maintenance practices, field inspection techniques and practices, and the operation of fiber optics equipment and internet protocol networks..
Experience in contract monitoring and management.
Experience in internet protocol networking equipment, management of systems and equipment.
Experience in inventory management oversight and system situational awareness.
Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
Valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations:
A combination of training, experience or education in Electronics Technology or related field desired.
Experience in contract monitoring and management, inventory management oversight and system situational awareness. Experience in internet protocol networking equipment and management.
Experience overseeing and monitoring ITS maintenance contracts.
ITS field maintenance or field management experience.
Proven ability to comprehend VDOT standards, plans and specifications.
