We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

As a Technical Writer / Communications Specialist, you will be a valuable asset to our Global Security & Engineering team.  This role requires an exceptional communicator who can translate technical language into impactful messaging across internal and external audiences.  The purpose of this role is to reduce risk to our organization by ensuring all employees, contractors and third parties know, understand and follow our security requirements and behave in a secure manner.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of information technology, security, incident response, compliance, risk and executive communications, and will be integral in producing clear, timely, and accurate content that promotes risk awareness, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

You'll work with colleagues and key collaborators to build education, awareness, training and end user communication materials.    If you're self-motivated, a great teammate, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

The day-to-day

  • Ability to form complex ‘communications / messages’ in a simple, clear and concise manner to the various communities within our organization. This can include different cultures, nationalities and international locations.
  • Display practical knowledge of different message distribution techniques to ensure end user communities understand and continually apply the required behavioral change necessary to reduce the ‘human factors’ risk.
  • Understanding of the concepts of information risks and the different elements that make up risk.
  • Plan and create education and awareness campaigns, and produce FAQ’s, playbooks, user guides, articles, internal and external communication and awareness materials.
  • Develop templates and processes for crisis communication and breach notification readiness. Provide support in crafting communications for internal and external events during cyber incidents or data breaches. Work closely with Legal, PR, and leadership.
  • Contribute to employee awareness and training campaigns with clear, engaging written materials.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and collaborators to gather information and ensure documentation quality.
  • Collaborate across multiple collaborators e.g.: Global Security, IT, Legal, and Communications to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Manage document repositories, version control, and audit-readiness for cybersecurity materials.
  • Implement and apply internal style guides and templates to maintain consistency and clarity.
  • Support Security Engineering with companywide email communications, announcements, and other mediums.

What you'll need

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant technical writing or experience in cybersecurity communications.
  • High attention to detail / careful handling of sensitive information and experience of delivering companywide communications globally (internally/externally).
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, controls, and frameworks (e.g.: NIST, ISO 27001, SOX, PCI, GDPR, NIS2).
  • Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools (Confluence, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Slack, Staffbase etc.).
  • Experience with incident response communications and being able to simplify complex topics into easy-to-read documentation.
  • High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to accept and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be located in the US
  • Must be a US Citizen

This is a hybrid role based in Carlsbad, CA and requires 3 days in office per week.

The right candidate will bring precision, clarity, and creativity to every piece of content.  Stay ahead of emerging cyber trends, tools, and compliance requirements to ensure our documentation is future-proof. Collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams to bridge knowledge gaps and drive consistent communication.  Think strategically about how documentation, training, and knowledge-sharing can scale as our department grows.
