One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we’re on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.
Viasat Transport Network Global Operations provide second line support to most of Viasat’s data communications network, which provides connectivity to various sites and systems as part of its Operational networks (GX, GX5, TT&C, BGAN, and Existing and Evolved system). These networks are critical to Viasat’s revenue generation and must be treated as such to provide secure, resilient and timely movement of data. The networks are being expanded as new Inmarsat ground stations are opened, new systems implemented, new requirements formulated, and to meet current industry standards and best practises.
Most of the equipment consists of Juniper and Cisco Routers, Cisco ASA, FTD, Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, Juniper and Cisco L2/L3 switches, Qradar, Algosec, Cisco ISE, SB Radius, Rancid, StableNet, IPERF, SolarWinds, and Linux servers for network monitoring.
The Engineer will complement the current team to support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and managing the life cycle of the equipment maintaining the correct software release as agreed and verified with TN Service Engineering. Moreover, the Engineer is required to monitoring activities of the Transport Network (TN) and other network duties.
The post could require some travel to Viasat’s remote offices, and work outside the normal working hours to complete activity in the system maintenance windows.
