About this role
Description
Purpose for the Position: To patrol hotel and public premises in order to maintain safety and security of the hotel on behalf of the associates, guests, and ownership.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Effectively monitor and protect hotel assets.
2. Collaborate with departmental head on ways to improve preventative and responsive security measures.
3. Assist in emergency procedures.
4. Follow proper patrol procedures and ensure proper documentation of property patrols.
5. Assist with shipping and receiving procedures.
6. Understand hotel’s cash handling procedures and report any procedure violations to the General Manager and appropriate management.
7. Follow proper investigative procedures for loss of hotel assets and ensure compliance with policies.
8. Effectively monitor and control access to public area, storage areas, associate areas, and locker rooms.
9. Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
10. Log activities and events occurring on shift.
Requirements
•Interpret and follow established policies.
• Deal with the general public, customers, staff, supervisors, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
• Plan and organize workload.
• Cope with interruptions.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
Shift is Sunday & Monday overnight Might be required to work other days/shifts as needed.
Physical Demands: Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Talking. Hearing.
Environmental Conditions: Both: Inside and outside. A job is considered “both” if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts, approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
Math Skills: Basic math skills may be needed.
Language Skills: English language.
Specific Vocational Preparation: Security Certification is preferred.
