Your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Supporting doctors during wellness and sick appointments</li> <li>Assisting with patient restraint, sample collection, and treatments</li> <li>Drawing blood, placing IV catheters, running in-house lab work, and preparing samples for send-out testing</li> <li>Administering vaccines and medications as directed</li> <li>Discussing vaccine protocols, preventive care, and post-visit instructions with clients</li> <li>Providing compassionate, low-stress patient handling and nursing care</li> <li>Supporting anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and dental procedures as trained veterinary technician</li> <li>Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation</li> <li>Collaborating with technicians, assistants, and CSRs to keep appointments running smoothly</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Who We’re Looking For</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Prior experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is required</li> <li>Comfortable working in exam rooms and supporting client-facing appointments</li> <li>Experience with blood draws, placing IV catheters, injections, vaccines, and client education</li> <li>Familiarity with basic lab work and medical record systems</li> <li>Licensed or certified veterinary technicians in New Jersey is preferred, but licensure is not required</li> <li>Calm, compassionate animal handling skills</li> <li>Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset</li> <li>Desire to continue learning and growing within the veterinary field</li> </ul> <p><em>This role is a great fit for someone earlier in their career but still has had experience working in a veterinary hospital and who seeks mentorship, skill development, and consistent support from an experienced team.</em></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Compensation + Benefits:</strong></span></p> <p><strong><em>Salary: $19.00-$22.00 an hour, to commensurate with experience.&nbsp;</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Flexible work schedules</li> <li><strong>Health Care, Life Insurance, &amp; Disability:</strong> Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans; employer-paid basic life insurance and voluntary options including AD&amp;D; short-term and long-term disability coverage to protect your income during unforeseen events.&nbsp;</li> <li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all teammates&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Paid Time Off:</strong> <ul> <li>Four (4) weeks of paid time off for all full-time teammates.</li> <li>Two (2) floating holidays for added flexibility.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Training &amp; Development: </strong> <ul> <li>Continuing education opportunities offered to both full-time and part-time teammates.</li> <li>Personalized development programs, including regular check-ins and tailored growth plans, to help you advance in your career.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Tuition Assistance:</strong> Support for paying off student loan debt, available to all full-time teammates.</li> <li><strong>Uniform Allowance:</strong> $200 per year for full-time teammates to ensure you’re equipped with professional attire.</li> <li><strong>Discounted Pet Care:</strong> Available for both part-time and full-time teammates, helping you provide the best care for your pets.</li> <li><strong>Industry Leading Parental Leave Policy:</strong> <ul> <li><em>For Birth Parent(s):</em> Up to 14 weeks of paid leave at 100%, which includes:&nbsp; <ul> <li>6–8 weeks of 100% income replacement (40% covered by VIP, 60% by STD).&nbsp;</li> <li>An additional 6 weeks of paid leave at 100% covered by VIP.</li> </ul> </li> <li><em>For Non-Birth Parent(s):</em>6 weeks of paid leave at 100%, fully covered by VIP.</li> </ul> </li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Veterinary Innovative Partners (VIP) is a network of veterinarian-owned-and-operated hospitals across twelve states.
