Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) was founded by a former United States Marine with the goal of ensuring that Veterans receive accurate disability benefits in a timely manner. Since it was founded, VBG has guided more than 35,000 Veterans through the complicated Veteran Affairs (VA) disability claims process. As a company founded by a Veteran and staffed by many Veterans and families of Veterans, VBG is committed to advocating for policies that protect the rights and interests of former service members.


Who we’re looking for:

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering project management support to the organization, working closely with the Program Manager, executives, and directors to ensure the effective execution of company initiatives. The role focuses on managing and coordinating cross-functional projects, supporting daily performance tracking, contributing to office growth and expansion, and ensuring program strategies are executed at the project level. The Project Manager plays a key role within the growing Program Management Department, translating organizational priorities into actionable projects and ensuring timely, high-quality completion.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

Program & Department Support

  • Partner with the Program Manager to scope initiatives, define deliverables, identify resources, and coordinate execution across departments.
  • Provide continuity and oversight for assigned project efforts to ensure resource allocation and utilization efficiency.
  • Support the development, documentation, and refinement of Program Management Department policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Translate company objectives and strategy into project-level execution plans.
  • Maintain ownership of project roadmaps within the assigned scope and report progress to the Program Manager.


Project Management Execution

  • Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, forecasts, bi-weekly updates, meeting notes, and completion reports.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Participate in gathering and writing high-level requirements and ensuring completeness and clarity for execution.
  • Drive action to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Provide post-project evaluation and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualifications or Competencies:

  • Required: 3+ years of project or product management experience, or equivalent.
  • Required: Intermediate knowledge of industry-standard project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Primavera, or similar).
  • Strong project coordination, organization, and execution skills.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Superlative attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to departmental and organizational goals.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, directors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Results-driven with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Willingness to embrace change, adapt quickly, and implement new approaches.
  • Depth of knowledge of Company workflows and ability to align projects accordingly.
  • Demonstrated personal credibility, accountability, and effectiveness.

Education:

  • A high Diploma/GED or higher is preferred.
