Who we’re looking for:

The Billing Specialist plays a key role in overseeing accounts receivable functions, ensuring payments are posted accurately, and supporting compliant collection activity. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines for invoicing, payment processing, and collections.



Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Process incoming mail, phone, or e-mail inquiries concerning billing and invoicing 
  • Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions  
  • Including validating fees and service agreement disputes
  • Create and update a log sheet for quality control 
  • Handle all special billing situations 
  • Audit ledgers to ensure they contain correct information, such as billing addresses and invoice numbers, and engage management over any AR problems you encounter 
  • Assist the Manager with monitoring the Collector's performance by running reports
  • Create department reports, i.e, collection aging reports
  • Observe HIHIPAAPPA compliance. 
  • Corresponding with clients via phone and e-mail.
  • Place outbound calls to clients after notification of a favorable decision.
  • Back up to billing invoices, posting of payments, recurring payments, daily deposits, and posting of deposits. 
  • Assist with collections on an as-needed basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications or Competencies:

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on accounts receivable experience and possess all aspects of accounts receivable functions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
  • Prior experience working with QuickBooks preferred.
  • Experience with customer service and client communication.
  • Ability to work well with other people, both externally and internally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced 10-key skills

Education:

A high Diploma/GED or higher is preferred.
