Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure efficient production flow, on-time delivery, and optimal inventory levels. This role works closely with production, procurement, logistics, and sales to balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production plans and schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans to address delays, shortages, or capacity issues
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure material and capacity availability
- Analyze MRP outputs and take corrective actions for shortages or excess inventory
- Communicate production plans, changes, and priorities to internal stakeholders
- Track key planning KPIs such as OTD, schedule adherence, and inventory levels
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes
- Participate in S&OP / demand review meetings as required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning tools is a plus
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in production planning or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
