To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced VRF Piping Mechanic to join our team.
The VRF Piping Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems and associated piping in commercial and residential environments. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret construction documents, and close collaboration with project managers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure successful project execution.
Minimum Requirements
3+ years of HVAC piping installation experience
At least 1 year of hands-on VRF system experience
Install VRF piping systems per manufacturer guidelines and project specifications, including refrigerant piping, condensate lines, and insulation
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts
Fabricate, assemble, and install copper piping with precise measurements and accuracy
Braze, solder, and pressure test refrigerant piping to ensure system integrity
Perform leak testing to verify compliance with safety and industry standards
Coordinate with HVAC technicians to connect piping to indoor and outdoor VRF units
Install related components such as brackets, hangers, and insulation
Collaborate with electricians, general contractors, and other trades to maintain project schedules
Troubleshoot and repair existing VRF systems, including piping, fittings, and insulation
Assist with commissioning and startup of VRF systems
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards
Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Attend project meetings and provide progress updates to project managers and superintendents
Stay current with VRF technology, tools, and installation techniques
Participate in on-the-job training and professional development
Perform other duties as assigned
