AMSI Services, the dedicated service platform within Vertical Mechanical Group, is entering a pivotal growth phase. Backed by a rapidly expanding mechanical organization with strong financial resources and market presence, AMSI Services is positioned to scale its commercial HVAC and plumbing service operations across the DMV and surrounding markets.
We are seeking a Vice President of Service to lead this next chapter, an executive who can bring structure, scale, and disciplined growth while maintaining a high standard of service delivery and customer experience. The successful candidate will have a willingness to roll up their sleeves, learn the business from top to bottom, ensure KPI's are consistently met and work with the VMG Executive team to ensure the AMSI Services is structured to scale. The successful candidate will require an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to be an active manager, intellectual curiosity, a desire to understand VRF and complex HVAC systems, a competitive spirit, and a drive to win and maximize ROI.
Role Overview
The Vice President of Service will have full P&L responsibility for AMSI Services and will oversee all aspects of service strategy, operations, and performance. This role requires a hands-on executive leader with the ability to balance near-term operational excellence with long-term growth and organizational maturity.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Set and execute the long-term vision for AMSI Services
- Serve as the leader for all service operations and growth initiatives
- Partner closely with VMG executive leadership to align service strategy with enterprise goals
P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
- Own full P&L responsibility for the Service division
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies
- Drive margin improvement through labor efficiency, cost control, and operational discipline
Operational Excellence and Technical Competence
- Oversee all service functions, including field operations, service management, controls, dispatch, and support
- Capacity to demonstrate and/or develop a strong understanding of VRF technology.
- Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and accountability structures
- Implement scalable processes to support continued growth and consistency
Growth & Market Leadership
- Expand service revenue through maintenance programs, service projects, and key accounts
- Strengthen customer relationships and retention
- Collaborate with Construction and Sales leadership to maximize lifecycle service opportunities
People & Culture
- Build and mentor a high-performing service leadership team
- Develop future leaders within the organization
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Ideal Background
- 10+ years of leadership experience in commercial HVAC and/or plumbing service
- Demonstrated success owning and scaling a service P&L
- Proven ability to grow revenue while improving margins
- Strong operational, financial, and executive leadership skills
- Experience leading through growth, change, and process development
