About this role

Job Description

General Summary:

Accountable for understanding the CF market landscape and Vertex's position within the market, leading business activities aligned with performance goals of the portfolio, tracking performance against those goals. Drive the INTL CF brand plan and establish ways of embedding insights, ensuring these are the foundation of our strategies

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with brand/team-lead to shape the brand strategy and brand life-cycle activities
  • Directs the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans for assigned product
  • Provides input into forecasting assumptions
  • Generates and consolidates key insights across HCPs and patient stakeholders
  • Makes strategic recommendations to advance performance against goals
  • Develops strong partnerships with cross-functional team to support business goals
  • Evaluates ROI for activities of the brand
  • Develop tools to support implementation of launch excellence, e.g. checklists for markets, templates, etc.
  • Develop & implement the process for annual brand planning across International and be the key point of contact in commercial for global brand plan process. Ensure country/international insights are baked into the global strategy and coordinate the brand plan development process across all brands and countries in International
  • Work closely with International Commercial colleagues including Training, Market Access and to develop a coherent approach to marketing best practices and capability development
  • Bring a focus on measurement/KPIs of all our marketing efforts for sustainable growth of our business – utilization and impact of marketing materials, refine HCP segmentation, impact of key marketing activities
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Operations in developing dashboards and other communication tools to track KPIs and put in place a process for course correction
  • Embed the Customer Curiosity mindset in marketing; asking the ‘why’ questions to generate better insights and share learnings

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Significant experience in pharmaceutical and / or biotechnology industries
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and executing launches at Global, Regional and local level
  • Demonstrated experience in developing new marketing processes, e.g. launch excellence, business planning 
  • Excellent communication skills, strong oral / written presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and creative approach, relentlessly in search of innovative solutions 
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment along with demonstrated integrity on the job
  • Ability to complete multiple projects simultaneously and achieve goals on time while delivering high quality results
  • In country or regional marketing, as well as global pharmaceutical experience is greatly preferred. 
  • Rare disease/highly specialized therapeutic area experience would be a strong plus
  • Demonstrated success and experience in pharmaceuticals or biopharmaceuticals, including some combination of marketing, sales and new product planning
  • Outstanding customer relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross functionally and Senior Executives
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Direct experience with communications review committee for review of tactics
  • Ability to oversee generation of insights and apply those insights to business
  • problems/opportunities and make strategic recommendations
  • Analytical mindset, with demonstrated ability to lead others to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategy, make strategic recommendations, and monitor
  • performance
  • Advanced knowledge of market forecasts and relationship of business drivers to revenue
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications, including PPT, Excel and Word

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Typically requires significant years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
