About the Job
The Cloud Platform Engineer supports the design, development, deployment, and operation of cloud and hybrid cloud environments that enable secure, scalable, and mission-critical systems for government customers. This role is responsible for cloud strategy, architecture, and platform implementation across the full lifecycle—from concept development through deployment and ongoing operational support. The position is full-time and based onsite at Fort Bragg, NC, supporting high-impact defense missions and working closely with application developers, engineers, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering

  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud and hybrid cloud architectures that meet customer, mission, and security requirements.

  • Implement enterprise infrastructure and platforms to support cloud computing environments.

  • Support Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

  • Architect and maintain highly available, scalable, and self-healing systems on cloud platforms.

Cloud Operations & Lifecycle Support

  • Provide end-to-end technical support for cloud deployments, from initial concept through production and sustainment.

  • Manage cloud integration and production service environments in rapidly evolving operational contexts.

  • Design, manage, and maintain automation tools for operational processes, backups, and service reliability.

  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging strategies across applications, systems, and services.

Automation, DevOps & Continuous Delivery

  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and DevOps methodologies.

  • Support Agile development practices and application lifecycle management processes.

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Implement automated security controls, governance frameworks, and compliance validation processes.

  • Ensure cloud solutions meet DoD security standards and accreditation requirements.

  • Support secure system design in classified and mission-sensitive environments.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with application developers, engineers, and stakeholders across all organizational levels.

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

  • Contribute to a collaborative, solution-oriented team environment with a focus on mission success.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Cloud and/or IT experience.

  • At least one professional cloud certification.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting cloud architecture design, development, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS environments.

  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE required).

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.

  • Experience supporting highly distributed applications and enterprise-scale solutions.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and application lifecycle management.

  • Proficiency with one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, Ruby, PHP, Perl, JSON).

  • Strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage change effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.

  • AWS Solutions Architect or Professional Cloud Solutions Architect certification.

  • Experience implementing advanced monitoring, automation, and cloud governance solutions.

  • Prior hands-on experience with complex enterprise systems in DoD or federal environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

  • Positive, team-focused attitude with a commitment to collective success.
