The Job:
The Vice President of Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of existing and new restaurant operations and is the most senior operations poisiton at Velvet Taco. He/she is responsible for the financial performance of the restaurants, new restaurant openings, team building and the leadership development of their teams.
Velvet Taco is looking for a “hands on” leader that that has a track record for building best-in-class teams. This position must be a cultural leader for the brand and set operational, financial, and customer satisfaction goals to establish high standards as a building block for one of the hottest concepts in the industry.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
· Lead and encourage regional and restaurant level leaders and team members in the planning, development and implementation of operational improvement practices. Live the Velvet Taco culture and be a brand ambassador every day.
· Own the operations P&L and drive EBITDA growth by analyzing COS, labor productivity and controlable expenses through identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
· Develop and drive the implementation and execution of Velvet Taco programs to the highest standards by supporting the restaurant management team to develop and execute action plans that meet the organizations goals.
· Develop and execute operational solutions that align with all organizational strategies as an operational leader.
· Increase sales and revenue through improved restaurant operations. Understanding P&L’s and developing strategies to improve areas where identified.
· Build and develop management teams that create world class leaders and position the company for aggressive growth success.
· Partner with all RSO Departments in developing strategies for better support of the restaurant operations when it comes to NROs, Training, Recruiting, Finance, etc.
· Conduct analysis to determine performance opportunities within company overall and regions, develop strategies and plans to improve where needed, while empowering DO’s and GM’s to make decisions and resolve issues independently.
· Be the expert in tacos and ensure that all products are consistently prepared and served according to Velvet Taco recipes, portions, cooking and service standards every shift.
· People focused mentality to train and develop management teams to create career opportunities and world class teams.
· Perform restaurant visits that are hands on and involve coaching and developing of Team Members at all levels, ensuring food quality, spec adherence, safe and healthy work environments, and that our culture is consistent with our Core Values. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
· 10+ years in multi-unit food service leadership role and overseen multi-unit operators.
· Proven leadership skills with a strong ability to assess talent and build effective teams.
· Previous work in leading successful training and education programs across an organization.
· Hands on ability to direct management teams in high-volume, late night environments.
· Proven success in collaborative leadership and working with cross-functional leadership.
· Role model with high ethical standards for self and others.
· Strong business acumen with results orientation to drive key business performance metrics.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
