Independent action(s) required:
Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner in providing patient care related to casts, splints and wound care all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor regarding time/schedule changes, legal issues, direct care which deviates from standard and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs.

Additional position requirements:
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.

- The Orthopedic Tech applies casts, splints, and other durable medical equipment to orthopedic patients in an outpatient setting. This role also involves patient and family education and maintaining supplies in the cast room.
