About this role

VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding and seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology Service! You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn advanced procedures, and grow your career in a collaborative environment!

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in neurological examinations and diagnostic procedures (MRI, CT, myelograms, CSF taps)

  • Perform pre-operative anesthesia planning, calculate drug dosages, and administer medications

  • Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and ensure patient safety

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care, including IVC placement, intubation, and patient recovery

  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient and surgical records

  • Communicate effectively with clients about treatment plans and procedures

  • Perform or be trained in advanced skills

  • Collaborate seamlessly with other departments to ensure top-quality patient care

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician

  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia protocols, patient monitoring, and surgical preparation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for learning, growing, and contributing to a dynamic specialty team
