VCA Midwest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology Service!

As board-certified specialists, emergency veterinarians, and highly trained licensed veterinary technicians, we are committed to providing exceptional care for pets with complex medical and surgical needs. We work in partnership with primary care veterinarians to select and deliver the most appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical treatment options.
As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of our specialized team, working closely with our neurologist.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in neurological examinations and diagnostic procedures (MRI, CT, myelograms, CSF taps)
Provide pre- and post-operative care
Maintain detailed and accurate patient and surgical records
Communicate effectively with clients about treatment plans and procedures
Perform or be trained in advanced skills
Collaborate seamlessly with other departments to ensure top-quality patient care
Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration)
Restrain animals safely and compassionately
Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment
Qualifications:
1+ years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Assistant
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for learning, growing, and contributing to a dynamic specialty team
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour weekday shifts, 7 am - 6 pm.
Compensation: Pay range is $ 17 - 21 / hr and is based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials.
