What will you do?

The Director of Digital Merchandising and Content is a strategic, creative, and analytical leader responsible for shaping the digital shopping experience on Vans.com across the US and Canada. This role works closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, and Technology teams to deliver a best-in-class digital customer experience. This role sits on the eCommerce Team, reporting into the Head of eCommerce, and reports into the Vans HQ 3 days/week (Costa Mesa).

  • Drive the digital merchandising strategy and execution, and oversee a robust content calendar that balances storytelling and commercial priorities with data driven insights
  • Lead and mentor a team of Site Merchandisers, Content Planners, and Search Engine Optimization Specialists
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive critical business outcomes:
    • Partner with Tech and Product Teams to prioritize and implement new tools and features that elevate the site experience and drive conversion
    • Partner closely with Merchandising and Marketing Teams, to develop customer-first content that drives engagement and conversion
    • Partner with Planning Teams to deliver against financial goals
  • Leverage reporting and analytics to drive actionable insights that drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Develop best-in-class, scalable digital merchandising processes and reporting that drive both efficiency and effectiveness

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 10+ years of experience and professional achievements, ideally within digital merchandising, site operations, content strategy, and/or SEO

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Proven track record of driving business growth and evolution through strategic digital merchandising and data-driven optimization
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce platforms and analytics tools
  • Have a pulse on rapidly changing digital landscape, and a passion for digital innovation and transformation
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with meaningful experience managing cross functional teams
  • Passion for digital innovation and transformation, and a customer-first mindset

Hiring Range:

$143,424.00 USD - $179,280.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
