About this role

The Product Pricing & Economics - Lead Analyst is responsible for advancing our understanding of fund economics and pricing as strategic levers to drive competitive advantage and optimize client value. The Lead Analyst will conduct competitive intelligence, collaborate with product teams to align pricing with strategy, and partner with finance to inform enterprise capital allocation. With over $10T invested in our funds, the role offers high impact on our company and clients and significant exposure to senior leadership. Ideal candidates are strong problem solvers who thrive in ambiguity, can manage diverse stakeholders, and translate complex analysis into clear insights.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product pricing research and analysis on new and existing funds to ensure the competitive health of our product lineup and to support strategic pricing and capital allocation decisions.

  • Synthesize analysis, insights, and thought leadership into compelling storylines and actionable strategies. Prepare and deliver presentation materials to senior leaders and business partners.

  • Maintain broad knowledge and awareness of the investment industry, competitor products, and Vanguard's fund line-up.

  • Build financial models to evaluate pricing strategies and their impact on revenue, capital allocation, and enterprise financial health; deliver insights that optimize shareholder value and inform long-term strategic planning.

  • Collaborate with business partners (e.g., Product Strategy, Marketing, Business Units) to determine how new and existing fund pricing can drive enterprise strategic goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years' related work experience, with at least two years financial services industry experience. Preference is for significantly experienced analyst.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Economics or Finance degree preferred.

  • MBA or other graduate degree preferred.

  • CFA or other financial designation preferred.

 

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with management, analysis, and visualization of large datasets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in identifying pragmatic solutions to abstract problems.

  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
