This hybrid role (in office Tues-Wed-Thurs) is based in Melbourne, VIC 

A junior specialist role supporting the team’s daily operations across investment data management, portfolio oversight, and trade support. Provides domain-aligned support to portfolio managers, traders, and broader IMG teams to maintain operational excellence and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete daily and ad hoc tasks while working under tight deadlines, managing competing priorities, and analysing multiple inputs to meet operational objectives.

• Support the delivery and validation of critical investment (e.g., security and index), market (e.g., pricing and corporate actions), and portfolio (e.g., transactions and liquidity) data into front office systems.

• Identify and lead process enhancement initiatives to gain efficiencies and improve quality. Review and perform root cause analysis of errors, participate in incident reviews and contribute to process improvements.

• Participate in the implementation of new portfolios, products, or market-driven events by capturing and validating business requirements.

• Analyse and respond to inquiries from portfolio managers, traders, and other stakeholders, escalating complex issues as needed.

• Participate in incident reviews and contribute to process documentation and improvement.

• Develop in-depth knowledge of investment products as well as associated operational processes and data inputs

• Support the creation of dashboards and reports; contribute to special projects and cross-team initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in investment operations, data management, or middle-office roles

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Familiarity with investment data, trade lifecycle, or fund accounting is a plus

• Willingness to learn tools such as SQL, Python, or data visualization software
