Job Title

Reliability Engineer

Job Description

As a Reliability Engineer, you are at the heart of keeping complex, high-tech automated logistics systems running at their best. You help our customers achieve maximum availability, safety, and performance across the entire asset lifecycle. By combining data-driven analysis with hands-on collaboration, you turn insights into lasting improvements.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with customers and colleagues, and seeing the direct impact of their work on operational performance.

What will you be doing

You will work with Reliability, Maintenance, and Process Engineers to identify failure patterns, eliminate losses, and design robust maintenance strategies. Using methodologies such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Risk Management, and Life Cycle Asset Management, you ensure reliability is built in - not fixed later.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyse system and equipment reliability to identify risks and failure modes
  • Lead and support root cause analyses (RCA) using structured methods (A3, Lean Six Sigma DMAIC)
  • Drive TPM, Lean Maintenance, and Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Apply built-in quality, error proofing, risk-based inspections, and loss elimination techniques
  • Develop and track reliability KPI’s such as MTBF, MTTR, and availability
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams on reliability improvement strategies
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance concepts, including condition-based maintenance
  • Document analyses and present insights clearly to internal and external stakeholders

What we ask from you

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, continuous-improvement mindset
  • Solid knowledge of reliability and maintenance concepts (TPM, FMECA, RCA, RCM, Lean Maintenance, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with asset management and maintenance systems (Maximo is a plus)
  • Understanding of Lean and Operational Excellence principles
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Fluency in English and Dutch (or willingness to learn Dutch)
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 35%

About the team

You will join the Site Performance team within Service Excellence, working closely with Process Engineers and fellow Reliability Engineers. You’ll also collaborate with Maintenance Engineers and Asset Management Consultants across the organization. Expect an international, dynamic, and supportive environment where teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are central - and where your ideas genuinely make a difference.

What we offer

You will have a meaningful role in a fast-growing, international technology organization with the opportunity to work on advanced, mission-critical automated systems.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 5.400 to € 6.400 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance).

On top of your fixed salary, you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office)
  • A Health & Wellbeing budget worth €300 per calendar year
  • Commuting allowance, including full reimbursement of travel by public transport.
  • Working from home allowance.
  • Collective pension scheme and discount on additional health insurance
  • On-site company health centres with a gym, physiotherapists and occupational therapists
  • A variety in Vanderlande Network communities and initiatives

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) acquired Vanderlande in 2017 to cement its global leading position within material handling.
