Job Summary:

The Certified Surgical Technologist/OR Scrub Technician provides proper and efficient care of the patient in the operating room under the direct supervision of the circulating nurse. He/she knows sterile technique, understands basic anatomy and operative procedures. Applies knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the operating rooms.

Shift Details:
- 3x12s – 1845-0715
- Call – 2 shifts per 6 weeks
- Rotating holiday schedule
- Additional information to be discussed during interview.

Sign-on Bonus:
• This full-time position offers a $20,000 (taxable) bonus to be paid over 24 months.
• The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months.

Relocation Bonus:
• Up to $10,000 (taxable) to be paid within 45 days of hire, based on relocation mileage.
• Must relocate from greater than 100 miles to be eligible.
• This bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months.

About Us:
For more than 40 years, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH) has been a place of healing and connection for patients and families in Wilson County and the surrounding area. A part of the Vanderbilt Health community of hospitals and clinics, VWCH is the sole provider of inpatient and outpatient medical services in Wilson County.

The Labor and Delivery department at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital offers personalized care with a team of OBGYNs, midwives, and obstetric anesthesiologists. The Women's Pavilion features secure, spacious patient rooms and family areas. They provide a range of birthing options, including natural and low-intervention births, with support services like in-patient lactation and childbirth classes. The team is equipped to handle emergencies with access to an advanced NICU.

• Assist OR staff as requested
• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

Qualifications:

Required: Graduate of an approved specific discipline OR successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during the applicant's service as a member of any branch of the armed forces of the United States.

Required: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience. OB experience preferred.

Required: Certification from one of the listed issuers below:

  • NBSTSA CST – National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistants, Certified Surgical Technologist.

  • NCCT – TSC – National Center for Competency Testing, Tech In Surgery.

  • Exception: If graduate of surgical technologist armed forces training program, no certification is required.
