MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Vandemoortele Izegem
As Maintenance Manager, you manage the site's maintenance organisation and monitor the optimal deployment of maintenance staff. You develop and optimise the maintenance structure, the curative and preventive maintenance policy and the associated systems. You manage and monitor maintenance budgets and adjust them where necessary.
You are familiar with Lean manufacturing in order to embed continuous improvement in the organisation. As Maintenance Manager, you can think and encourage problem-solving, you are highly communicative and have the necessary skills in change management.
You will actively participate in investment projects, increase machine reliability together with your team and actively work on performing maintenance tasks safely. You take the responsibility on energy optimization in the site: ideation and execution of energy reduction initiatives.
Your key responsibilities and challenges are:
- You participate in and drive ongoing improvement projects in line with the current strategy.
- You report on a regular basis to the site manager and the management team.
- Via cross-functional operation, you provide input towards investments and possible optimisations of installations to minimise curative maintenance.
- You work closely with central engineering to work out investments and adaptation projects.
- You coach your team in the use of improvement techniques.
- You are actively involved and coach your team in the different maintenance areas: curative maintenance, preventive maintenance, reliability and investment projects.
- You contribute to the development of performance metrics and reporting.
- You work together with your team to reduce technical downtime.
- You are responsible for the entire site: machinery in production, warehouse, maintenance buildings and the cooling plant.
- You lead a maintenance team of 30 associates.
Are you the one we’re looking for?
- You have an academic background: engineering degree.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a maintenance or engineering department.
- Demonstrable technical expertise and knowledge of maintenance management is required.
- You have thorough experience with Lean tools in a manufacturing environment.
- You have a good knowledge of MS Office as well as knowledge of SAP.
- You have strong leadership skills to lead, motivate, coach and build your team together.
- You strongly believe in continuous improvement and are able to propagate these principles.
- You are communicative, persuasive and a real team player.
- You are able to set priorities in the interest of the entire site, across the value chain.
- You have organisational skills and approach things project-wise.
- You are able to work independently as well as cross-functionally.
