Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Join our mental health team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast! This is a hospital-based position in Powell River, BC, where two full-time adult psychiatrists will serve diverse mental health and addiction needs. Part-time applicants are welcome. Combination of outpatient and inpatient (7-bed psychiatric unit). No overhead. No call. There is an opportunity to choose between solely inpatient or outpatient work. Comprehensive allied health care supports on-site, including ACT, ICMT, counseling, and close collaborative care with family physicians, nurse practitioners and specialists. ECT provided on site. If you enjoy acute and varied team-based work, this position is for you! Applicants with leadership and quality/program improvement experience or training would be a bonus.CME and physician leadership education incentives are available.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 8.82% (physically localed in the RSA community). Rural Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

• Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Provisional/Mandatory
• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)- Mandatory
• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory
