We are now looking for an Energy Management System (EMS) Specialist to support the operation, development, and optimization of our energy management environment based on Valmet DNA Energy Management. The role combines energy system modeling, forecasting, production optimization, and electricity market interaction to ensure cost-efficient and reliable energy operations.
Our head office is in Tampere, but your work location can be any of the Valmet Automation locations in Finland.
In the role of the Energy Management System Specialist you will:
Configure and maintain Valmet DNA Energy Management system including Measuring and data integration, Forecasting, Production optimization and scenarios simulations, electricity trading support
Analyze energy production, consumption, and market data to improve economic performance
Support optimization runs for short- and long-term production planning
Validate forecast accuracy and optimization results
Maintain interfaces to external systems (weather forecasts, market data, automation systems)
Support energy efficiency initiatives and economic follow-up (eco-optimization)
Collaborate with control room operators, Production planners / Energy engineers, and engineering teams
Give training sessions to internal and external customers
As a part of the job, you will perform performance analysis of clients’ multidimensional processes to identify potential improvement opportunities. You troubleshoot and correct performance problems by yourself. You will develop and maintain customer performance improvement as well as develop optimization solutions. You will work as an engineer and provide technical support to project and service personnel in the design of energy management systems, technology implementation, integration, commissioning, and maintenance.
You have knowledge in energy production, process modeling and optimization. Process background from energy production, steam networks, turbines and energy trading would be preferred. You can be a rising talent or senior specialist, meaning at least 5 years’ experience in the field.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Energy, Electrical or Automation Engineering is a good educational background for you. In addition, we value if you have some experience in process performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimization, plant process operations, engineering and maintenance. Valmet DNA engineering tools previous usage is a plus. Process modeling and data analysis are topics that make you feel comfortable as well. In global organization, you need to have fluent written and spoken English, other languages are a plus.

You are used to collaborating with different people, and you can keep your customer service mindset also in challenging situations.
