Pay Grade
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is the leader for all technicians in the pharmacy department. The Supervisor creates schedules, approves payroll, and fosters an environment of engagement and collaboration among the pharmacy technicians. The Supervisor also acts as a liaison to the Pharmacy Manager and senior leadership for the technician group. The Supervisor has intimate knowledge of all technician workflows and assesses them for opportunities to improve on a regular basis. Other responsibilities include participation in performance improvement initiatives, recruiting, and department planning.
Education
General associate's degree or successful completion of relevant college courses preferred
Experience
Three to five years of relevant pharmacy/healthcare experience required
Certification & Licensure
Virginia Pharmacy Technician Certification (or certification eligibility) required
Qualifications
Strong understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards as they relate to medication safety management.
Knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare operations, processes and policies appropriate to hospital setting.
Understands performance improvement mechanisms and data collection.
Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
