Position Summary
In collaboration with Structural Heart Disease Interventional cardiologist (SHDI) and Cardiothoracic Surgeons (CTS) receives patient referrals from cardiologists/PMDs/self-referrals, etc.The RN Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for patients within the Valve Clinic and supports the Structural Heart Program by coordinating care across the continuum. This role involves performing routine clinical tasks, managing patient flow, and ensuring accurate documentation. The RN Coordinator facilitates communication between patients, families, and the care team, provides education, and assists with diagnostic and procedural coordination to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in cardiology or a related specialty
Experience in patient education and care coordination preferred.
Skills
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
Proficiency in EMR systems (Athena, Meditech)
Knowledge of cardiac procedures and diagnostics preferred
