Technical missions
In relation with Laboratory in France, analyse job request and define analysis protocol
Select appropriate equipment and laboratory to perform analysis
Achieve/Manage Sample preparation:
cutting,
resin,
polishing : down to 3µm diamond, and colloidal silica solution
metallization, plasma deposition: Gold, Palladium, Carbon….
Reveal microstructure: Chemical delineation (Adler attack solution)
Pilot macroscopic inspection with the selected laboratory: Binocular analysis, Optical microscopy analysis, Scanning electron microscopy and so on
Pilot microscopic analysis with the selected laboratory: Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy elemental chemical analysis.
Analyse results of macroscopic and microscopic inspection: analyse quality of the images, react with laboratory if parameters are not corrects, to comment images and give orientation
Achieve or Manage Vickers Hardness measurements, according to standard.
Identify additional analysis necessary for deeper investigation when necessary: surface analysis XPS, AES, 3D XRAY, CSAM, etc…..
Provide metrics about activities
In future:
interpret analysis results: figure out problems, propose failure mechanism schemes, etc….
Propose solutions to improve efficiency and reduce issues
Define best practices and design rules, coming from analysis in order to improve efficiency and reduce the issues.
General missions
Should have knowledge on executing tasks in project management mode
Drive and monitor the Material Analysis activities
Provide analysis reports in accordance with existing templates
Support project teams for all Valeo Business Group team
Involved in the domain meetings via technical presentations.
Involved in the technology watch, the research and the deployment of innovative analysis and in order to maintain the excellence in the domain
Build credibility to the project teams for all Valeo Business Group team.

What you'll do
- The Senior Engineer - Materials will analyze job requests and define analysis protocols in collaboration with the laboratory in France. They will manage sample preparation and conduct various analyses to interpret results and propose solutions for efficiency improvements.
