The Mechanical Radar Sensor Integrator Lead is responsible for the mechanical integration of radar sensors into vehicle systems, ensuring robust performance, manufacturability, and compliance with automotive standards.

This role bridges sensor technology, vehicle packaging, and mechanical design to enable reliable ADAS & ARAS and autonomous driving functions across vehicle platforms.

YOUR CHALLENGES:

Mechanical Integration & Design

  • Lead the mechanical integration of Valeo mid-range mid-range radar sensors into vehicle components such as bumpers, grilles, mirrors, and body structures

  • Define sensor mounting positions, mounting concepts, brackets, housings, and fixation strategies considering performance, tolerances, vibrations, and thermal influences

  • Ensure radar performance is not degraded by mechanical design, materials, or vehicle packaging constraints over life-time

  • Support challenging sensor integrations and cooperate with system team  during Electromagnetic simulation securing sensor positioning the best possible  

  • Collaborate with design, body, and exterior teams to ensure seamless vehicle integration

  • Lead technical exchange with customers during sensor integration phase

Development & Validation

  • Define mechanical requirements for radar sensors and surrounding components

  • Support CAD development (CATIA) and conduct packaging and tolerance analyses

  • Analyze test results and implement design optimizations

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 16750, ISO 26262 awareness, OEM-specific standards)

  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and sensor integration guidelines

  • Support change management and release processes (PLM)

LET´S TALK ABOUT YOU:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering,

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or integration in the automotive industry

  • Hands-on experience with ADAS/ ARAS sensor integration (radar, camera, lidar, or ultrasonic preferred)

  • Experience working in cross-functional automotive development teams


Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, tolerancing, and materials

  • Experience with automotive environmental requirements (temperature, vibration, moisture, stone impact)

  • Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA)

  • Understanding of radar sensor basics and ADAS system constraints


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bumper systems or exterior components

  • Knowledge of plastic part design and injection molding

  • Familiarity with vehicle development processes (V-Model, APQP)

  • Experience with supplier management and technical reviews
