We are hiring for a Senior Construction Manager to support our government customer based in Laurel, MD.  This position is required to be onsite.

 

**This position will require an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Full Scope Polygraph.

 

V2X seeks a results-driven individual with Senior Construction Manager conducts construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes and generating reports. This position reviews shop drawings and submittals and providing the COTR with a recommendation for approval/disapproval and notifies the Government in writing of non-compliant safety hazards and recommended corrective actions. The Construction Manager-FP verifies completion of corrections and actions identified and attends project meetings. This shall not change the project scope, cost, duration, schedule, nor obligate the Government in any fashion. The Construction Manager-FP manages project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight. This includes managing and evaluating construction contractor performance. The Construction Manager-FP will integrate and coordinate projects with field personnel. Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests. Provide official weekly project status reports. The Construction Manager-FP will prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders. The Construction Manager-FP will assist the client's Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution and administration. The Construction Manager-FP will assist the CO and COTR with conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits with the COTR and provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment.

 

The Senior Construction Manager will prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets; provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction-related issues; direct design efforts; recommend construction documents for approval; and provide oversight of any follow-on maintenance programs. This will include optimizing performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements. The Construction Manager-FP will conduct design reviews with the customer, ensure timely input of all data, comments, and documentation into MAXIMO software project management tool. This requirement applies to all projects, work orders, and tasks across the project lifecycle. The Construction Manager-FP will ensure integration of all systems, including information technology, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. This includes the preparation of Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes and generating reports.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals and providing the COTR with a recommendation for approval/disapproval.
  • Notify the Government in writing of non-compliant safety hazards and recommended corrective actions.
  • Verify completion of corrections and actions identified.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • CMs shall not change the project scope, cost, duration, schedule, nor obligate the Government in any fashion.
  • Participate in Sponsor-unique Permit Training and serve as Permit Authorizing Individuals. This requirement is classified and is available on the high side. Please work with your company’s designated POC to obtain this information.
  • Manage project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.
  • Manage and evaluate construction contractor performance.
  • Integrate and coordinate projects with field personnel.
  • Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests.
  • Provide official weekly project status reports.

Qualifications

  • Education / Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in any field; high school, vocational school, or trade school diploma and five (5) years’ work experience in a similar field may be substituted for degree requirement
  • Experience:
    • Ten (10) years' of experience in construction management.
    • Experience applying building codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
    • Experience working with requirement is classified and is available on the high side. Please work with your company’s designated POC to obtain this information.
  • Working Environment:
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Work in an operationally sensitive environment.
    • Work outdoors, in confined space, irregular schedule, working off-shift/rotating schedule, operation of motor vehicles, work in a noisy environment, work under unusual lighting conditions, work near sources of ionizing radiation, work near sources of non-ionizing radiation, headgear or head protection, safety glasses or eye protection, hearing protection, gloves or hand protection, safety shoes or protective foot gear.
    • Operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.
    • Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.
    • Work well in team environments including demonstrate the ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
    • May be required to successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and an extensive background investigation.
    • May be required to undergo successful occupational testing to include an aptitude test, writing test, personality inventory, and interview Office.
