Work Schedule: 
80% FTE, Evenings. Hours are from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am Monday through Thursday. You will work at the University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

  • Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position. 
  • This position may be eligible for a $8000 sign-on bonus

Each person who enters the Emergency Department (ED) doors with a mental health crisis receives services meticulously tailored to their unique needs.

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to: 

  • Prioritize creating an environment where patients feel valued and understood.
  • Provide diagnostic assessment and treatment to patients and their families presenting to the Emergency Department and on the inpatient units with mental health crisis/concerns.
  • Empower patients’ choices and respect their autonomy by being transparent and engaging them in every step of their care.
  • Work closely with the Emergency Department team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Work closely with the Psychiatry Consult-Liaison and on-call Psychiatry teams on safety and admission-related decisions.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other behavioral health related field Required
Work Experience
  • 1 year of experience providing evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health and behavioral diagnoses for children, adolescents, and adults Required
  • 1 year of crisis management skills in hospital, clinic, or emergency department, crisis center counseling, Psychiatric Emergency Services, or Crisis Stabilization unit preferred Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist Upon Hire Required and
  • CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
