Women, Infants and Children (WIC), a division of the Health Department has the following position available:
*May Underfill as Public Health Nutritionist I – Part Time – No Benefits
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
Starting Pay:
Public Health Nutritionist II - $30.74 - $35.35 per hour
Public Health Nutritionist I - $24.95 - $28.67 per hour
Schedule:
This position will typically be on:
Tuesday or Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
Wednesday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM,
The position will be for 8-16 hours per week and does not have benefits.
Must be willing to travel to outlying clinics. Driver’s license required.
Duties will include:
Evaluates anthropometric and biochemical data and medical and nutritional history to determine client’s eligibility for WIC services.
Identifies and documents nutritional risk factors and educational needs of clients and develops nutrition care plans for clients.
Provides nutritional counseling and class instruction for various needs: pregnancy, breastfeeding, infants and small children, postpartum, teen mothers, substance abuse, general nutrition, and other health issues and documents nutritional counseling and progress towards nutritional goals in computer data base.
Provides specialized nutritional counseling, medical nutrition therapy, class instruction and follow-up for medically and nutritionally compromised clients.
Obtains appropriate specialized formula for clients in consultation with physicians, State WIC staff, pharmacies, and vendors.
Preference may be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
