JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Software Specialist partners with Clinical Informatics, IT, and clinical stakeholders to design, validate, deploy, and monitor data-driven clinical decision support within the electronic medical record (EMR). This role focuses on translating clinical questions and evidence into analytics, predictive models, and measurable insights that improve patient safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.  The CDS Software Specialist serves as a bridge between data science, clinical workflows, and EMR build, ensuring that advanced analytics are clinically meaningful, governed, explainable, and sustainable in production.  Please note, this position does not support H1B visa sponsorship.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

  • Education
    High School Diploma 
     
  • Experience
    5 years of computer operation, programming, or IT experience in a business setting or equivalent experience, including at least 
    1 year as Software Systems Specialist I or equivalent 
    An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be substituted in lieu of the stated requirements. 
     


JOB DUTIES

  • Participates in analysis of software system problems of moderate complexity and formulates and implements solutions to such problems.
  • Performs programming, testing, and documentation.
  • Recommends development of system routines needed for efficient use of computer system resources; designs approved routines; oversees implementation.
  • May specialize in specific area of system software, such as telecommunications or information systems with responsibility for implementation and maintenance.
  • Participates in planning of enhancements and modifications to software; identifies impact of such changes.
  • Trains Software Systems Specialists I as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
