JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced Architectural Design Project Manager to join our Facilities Planning team.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in bridging the gap between design and construction, coordinating between clients, architects, engineers, and contractors; supporting construction project managers collaborating with our architectural and engineering consultants through the development of design and construction documentation and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience in architectural specification development, project management for architectural design of hospital and/or academic research facilities, and licensure in Architecture or an associated field.

As an Architectural Design Project Manager for our healthcare facilities, you'll work under minimal direction to provide professional coordination services for architectural design and standards development projects. Your expertise will be crucial in defining process improvement and strategies for mid and long-range project efforts.

Work Location: Trinity Towers at Dallas Campus; onsite 100%25 of time, may or may not require travel to and from other UTSW facilities throughout DFW metro area.

Shift Requirement: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering or related design field.
  • Experience
    5 years professional level experience in related industry field.
Preferred
  • Experience
    Architectural Design Project Management experience.

JOB DUTIES

  • Supports the Construction Project Managers in the management of the engineering consultants who prepare the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specifications for projects.
  • Reads and review plans and contract documents related to coordination of design projects and standardization efforts.
  • Manages AE standardization efforts as it relates to Life Safety and Codes in drawings and master specifications.
  • Supports the Construction Project Managers for coordination with vendors including AE consultants. Performs necessary site visits to ensure adherence to design guidelines and specifications of design projects.
  • Coordinates with AE consultants all necessary design standards documentation to adhere to design guidelines and specifications on contract documents.
  • Proactively seeks to understand the needs of our customers. Performs research, provides support, guidance, recommendation deliver the highest standards of service.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and executes continuous improvements to policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
