  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment and supplies for respiratory therapist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination/treatment by complying with established policies and procedures.  
  • Organizes and documents all aspects of assigned duties in coordination with therapists, nursing personnel, and other areas of department to ensure accurate and timely performance of therapeutic procedures.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities by participating in the collection of data for performance improvement activities to ensure quality is consistent with established standards.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development by participating in educational activities to promote continuous improvement and compliance with patient care standards.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Enrolled in an CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program
  • Completion of 1st year of respiratory therapy program
  • Knowledge and ability to operate all respiratory equipment
  • CPR Certified Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire date
