Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health East Texas is comprised of 9 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, nearly 7,500 employees and over 1,000 licensed inpatient beds. We provide healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service.

Responsibilities

  • Work responsibilities include but not limited to authorizing referral with insurance, scheduling patient with appropriate provider based on referred to provider, patient choice or recommendations from referral coordinator, documenting all appropriate/necessary information in referral to complete it.
  • Maintains a constructive working relationship with physicians, physician office staff, co-workers, supervisors and focuses on patient needs.
  • Referral Coordinators are expected to work 80 referrals a day and 24 to 48 hours upon receipt.

Qualifications

 

Job Requirements:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of clinical experience and health insurance knowledge.
