Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day-to-day credentialing functions UT Health East Texas Medical Staff Services which may include any hospital within the system.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies (TJC, CMS, NCQA, TDI) in regard to credentialing. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable statutes and laws.
  • Assists by preparing files for surveys by said agencies.
  • Assist in ensuring that clinical privileges performed are reflective of current services offered by the applicable facility.
  • Maintains online privilege folders for assigned facilities with current privilege forms.
  • Assist in ensuring that practitioners practice within the scope of their privileges and addresses and concerns immediately with manager.
  • Provides support for the Medical Staff Director as needed.
  • Ensures that all ongoing expirable are reviewed, obtained, and entered on a bi-monthly basis and notifies manager of any actions needed for any licenses, certification, or insurance that is not renewed as outlined by the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Processes urgent files as needed by facilities by performing all credential checks necessary and prepare file for approvals in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills appropriate to a professional atmosphere.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Files all correspondence generated by committees, physicians, and others.

Qualifications

Job Requirementss:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years credentialing experience in hospital, clinic or managed care setting.

  • NAMSS CPCS Certification
