Get to Know Your Team:
- This position is located in the new Medical Education Building (MEB).
- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility for the human and fiscal resources available in order to provide quality, cost-effective patient centered care.
- The Charge Nurse will possess and have the capabilities to perform all the major duties and critical tasks of a Registered Nurse.
- The Charge Nurse will demonstrate honesty, integrity, respectfulness, discretion, responsibility and dependability.
- Supports the mission and vision of the facility.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program
- Must possess and maintain a current RN license to practice in Texas
- At least one (1) year RN experience in a clinic environment
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- EMR experience
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Specialty certification, such as Ambulatory Care Nurse, preferred at hire and preferred within 12 months of eligibility
- Five (5) years RN experience
- At least two (2) years RN experience as a charge nurse or supervisor
- Bilingual
