A Brief Overview
The US LBM Director of Continuous Improvement will drive and deliver lasting, scalable results across a high-growth organization. This role measures and analyzes current processes, improves operational efficiency, productivity, and performance, and identifies and implements new processes. This person is a proven change leader, results-oriented, and motivated to contribute at both strategic and operational levels.
What you will do
Lead and manage all aspects of continuous improvement, including project deployment, measuring results, and reporting KPIs across multiple levels of the organization.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of improvement projects with P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow impact; partner closely with Finance to quantify and validate outcomes.
Motivate, coach, and develop leaders and team members; mentor at all levels to support adoption of Lean principles and practices.
Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities in partnership with Operations leadership; determine project scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
Link key process improvements to KPIs and operational goals; establish visual management and performance reporting that drives accountability.
Manage a portfolio of projects at varying stages, ensuring consistent application of Lean/Six Sigma best practices and change management discipline.
Coordinate regional and enterprise initiatives to drive consistency, standardization, and scalability across business segments.
Diagnose bottlenecks and implement solutions to reduce waste and increase throughput for core processes.
Track and report impact of continuous improvement efforts; communicate operational activities, status updates, and ROI to senior leadership.
Facilitate improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen, VSM, 5S) and own the pre-work planning and post-work follow-up to ensure sustainment.
Build a grass-roots CI culture, including participation in Communities of Practice, leading Lean/CI training classes, and documenting business processes.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for a team of Continuous Improvement Managers, driving skill advancement, succession readiness, and continuous improvement excellence.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience Qualifications
7+ years of demonstrated experience in continuous improvement, process management, or systems thinking.
Demonstrable experience leading change management (Prosci ADKAR familiarity preferred).
Financial acumen with a clear understanding of how projects impact P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Experience in data collection and analysis; proficiency with quantitative/qualitative problem-solving.
Proven effectiveness managing a portfolio of projects simultaneously across cross-functional teams.
Skills and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of distribution excellence, inventory management, business process optimization, manufacturing/operations, logistics, and margin improvement.
Deep practical expertise in Lean methodologies, tools, and processes; comprehensive understanding of CI approaches.
Critical thinking and analytical strength with the ability to translate insights into action.
Influential communicator capable of securing senior leadership buy-in and sponsorship by aligning business benefits to strategy.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate at all levels to achieve results.
Proven track record of strategic and operational improvement leadership in challenging, growth-oriented environments.
Demonstrated, hands-on success driving Lean transformation to optimize distribution and manufacturing systems, practices, and processes.
High energy, passionate, and results-oriented with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Licenses and Certifications
Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
Master Black Belt preferred.
Prosci ADKAR certification preferred.
OSHA 10 Certification in construction or general industry preferred.
