Full-Time – Fixed Term Contract (up to 4 years)

About the role:
Council are currently looking for a motivated Apprentice Mechanic to learn everything about mechanical servicing, inspections, fault diagnosis and repairs on anything from small engines, light &, heavy vehicles and medium & heavy plant.
This is an outstanding opportunity for candidates to develop a dynamic and fulfilling career with a well-established organisation which supports our local community.  Joining the Council Fleet team, based out of the Scone Depot, you will work under the guidance and mentorship of our experienced, passionate and talented mechanics and receive formal training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Upon completion of your four-year apprenticeship, you will have earned a trade qualification that is recognised nationally.

About you:
Our successful applicant will have a NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent and will have sound literacy, numeracy, oral and written communication skills. The willingness and capability to learn and complete required training is essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

About Upper Hunter Shire Council

Upper Hunter Shire is located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, about 250 kilometres north of Sydney. It is bounded by Liverpool Plains Shire and the Tamworth Regional Council area in the north, Gloucester and Dungog Shires in the east, the Singleton Council area and Muswellbrook Shire in the south and the Mid-Western Regional Council area and Warrumbungle Shire in the west.
