UPMC is seeking a detailed-oriented and analytical Data Analysis & Process Improvement Summer Intern. The CHC Quality Team manages the reporting of critical incidents for CHC HCBS Participants, including tracking all investigative actions and ensuring critical incidents are responded to thoroughly, effectively, and timely. Team members work closely with service coordinators, quality improvement coordinators, and other staff in the health plan to investigate incidents, trends, Quality of Care concerns, and ensure all parties required are contacted within specified timelines. Incident Reporting data is collected and analyzed for quality measures, timeliness of response, and effective resolution. The Intern must have critical thinking skills to: Raise vital questions and problems with a participant’s situation or services.
Other work duties may include projects related to HEDIS measures, CAHPS Surveys (analysis), updating year over year trackers, developing visuals using data, and researching topics pertinent to the CHC Population.
This is a hybrid shift consisting of working from home and in the office. The internship will run from May 26th to August 14th with some flexibility to start and end if necessary.
