About this role

The Master Plumber assists the professional staff in repairing, maintaining, and installing all Washington Health System plumbing and pipefitting in accordance with plumbing codes. The Master Plumber is responsible for meeting and maintaining established medical, plumbing, and building code protocols. 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable and responsible for plumbing services, installations, and repairs under the supervision of the Chief Operating Engineer.
  • Accurately reports information to members of the department team and other members of Washington Health System in order that they may intervene to provide adequate and appropriate care.
  • Adheres to the Washington Performance System, and complies with all external regulatory and accrediting bodies while ensuring safety of patients/families, visitors, and staff.
  • Approaches and solves problems while considering all relevant facts to the issue with an outcome of a timely, good decision.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM, or scheduled at the needs of the hospital.



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Maintains current Master Plumbers Registration acceptable to Washington County Division of Permits and Licensing.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Maintains current Master Plumbers Registration acceptable to Washington County Division of Permits and Licensing.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Master Plumber License
  • No Tier-D Violations/Valid Driver's License required.
  • MVR required
  • Act 31
  • Act 33
  • Act 34
  • Act 73
