About this role

Are you ready to be part of a highly skilled, tight-knit team that plays a vital role in saving lives every day? UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a full-time Anesthesia Associate to support our world-class anesthesia providers and deliver exceptional care to patients during critical moments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work varied shifts — weekday evenings, weekend daylight, and nights — supporting patient care 24/7.
  • Assist in Trauma and Transplant procedures, including:
    • Rapid blood infusion
    • Difficult airway assistance
    • Cell salvage and jet ventilation
    • Swan Ganz catheter and liver transplant bypass cannula assistance
    • Support anesthesia providers across all procedure areas: OR, MRI, GI Lab, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and IR suites.
    • Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies for anesthesia procedures to ensure smooth and safe patient flow.
    • Troubleshoot critical equipment such as Anesthesia gas machines, GE B850 patient monitoring, Edwards CCO monitoring, and TEE/Ultrasound systems.
    • Maintain stock levels and organize surgical suites for quick turnaround between cases.
    • Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the career ladder, based on their individual experience and education. 



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  •  6 months - 1 year of health care experience preferred. 
  • If no previous hospital or pre-hospital training, Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to progress to an Anesthesia Technician position within 6months to 1 year of hire.
