This position will function in a fast paced medical setting, specializing in one or more areas of medical care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills to foster and contribute to a collegial environment, with the primary focus of providing outstanding care to our patients and their families.
Essential Functions:
Facilitates an exceptional patient care experience by ensuring and assisting patient flow within the office, attending to needs of patients, their families and medical staff
Prepares patient for physician visit: obtains and documents appropriate vital signs and health history information in Electronic Health Record (Allscripts)
Clinical duties may include: Checks vital signs, Give injections (including immunizations), Medication administration, breathing treatments, dressings, vision/hearing testing, suture removal, patient education and assisting physician with procedures, Distributes/educates regarding home spacers and nebulizers
Documents, records, and reports necessary patient information
Laboratory testing may include: Specimen collection (including finger sticks/venipuncture), documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting and telephone and walk-in triage
Assist patients with any paperwork necessary for the visit
Assists with follow up calls to families regarding visits/procedures
Checks and maintains Crash Cart chart
Provides excellent, clear documentation in every area of the office. All documentation is done in the Electronic Health Record, either by entry or by scanning documents
Works closely with physicians to ensure patient and family needs are met in an expeditious manner
Performing laboratory tests
Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
