About UTemp
UTemp is the University of Washington’s internal staffing office, connecting qualified professionals with temporary, hourly-paid positions across UW’s campuses and medical centers, including Seattle, UW Bothell, UW Tacoma, and remote/hybrid roles. We provide departments with skilled, customer service-oriented staff for a variety of non-permanent positions, ranging from entry-level to professional.

Common Reasons for Contingent Staffing
Backfilling a vacant position while recruiting for a permanent hire.
Covering an employee’s leave of absence (e.g., medical, parental, or vacation leave).
Supporting special projects that require additional help.
Managing seasonal or peak workload demands.
Providing interim support during organizational changes.
Bridging gaps caused by unexpected staff turnover.
Assignment Details
UTemp assignments can last from a single day to several months, but typically not exceeding one year.
Positions are at-will and may be extended or ended at any time.
