The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team!
WORK SCHEDULE
• Per Diem
• Rotating/Variable shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
• Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and assigned tasks including preparation and packaging of medications and other pharmacy-related functions
• All activities are performed under the general supervision of a registered Pharmacist
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in the IV room and compound IV medications in accordance with USP 797 standards.
Deliver medications to nursing units and other areas of the hospital.
Package medications in single-unit packages.
Restock shelves in the unit dose fill and front counter areas.
Complete monthly outdate check and cleaning as assigned by Manager.
Package patient specific medications in single-unit packages.
Perform bulk compounding of medication, under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Triage clinical inquiries requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgement.
Answer inquiries not requiring a pharmacist’s professional judgement.
Fill medications for automated dispensing cabinet refills for the entire hospital
Handle, dispense and deliver hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 standards..
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience
LEGAL REQUIREMENT
State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
