The UVMH System Director of Professional Billing (PB) is responsible for the general management of the System's insurance billing and collections of professional services. This includes all day-to-day operations, quality and performance improvement planning and project execution. The System Director PB also acts as a key resource for the University of Vermont Health Medical Group’s (UVMHMG) leadership and actively participates in management activities. The PB Department provides professional billing office services to UVMHMG including charge processing, accounts receivable management, system support and analytics, with strict adherence to regulatory requirements. The System Director of UVMH PB is a member of the System’s finance team and represents the professional revenue cycle across a broad array of constituents. This position is also the primary administrative liaison for UVMHMG with external payers, managed care and insurance companies regarding operational issues. Within the organization, this individual works actively with Accounting, Compliance, Revenue Management, Health Information, Coding, Patient Access Services, Hospital Billing and Information Services on revenue cycle issues. This position oversees the PB teams across UVMH, including sites in Vermont and New York.
EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree with an emphasis in health care, business or finance.
EXPERIENCE:
The incumbent should have at least seven years of progressive experience in managing the revenue cycle for a multi-specialty physician group. Experience with Provider Based/Article 28 (NY) billing and associated organizational revenue implications is strongly desired. Epic experience is required.

Our network was created in October 2011 when Fletcher Allen in Burlington, Vermont, and Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont, signed an affiliation agreement. In January 2013, New York partners Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown joined the affiliation. In 2016, Alice Hyde Medical Center joined. The network was originally called Fletcher Allen Partners.
