The UVMH System Director Hospital Billing (HB) is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of systems and operations within the Patient Financial Services and the Patient Financial Support departments for all UVMH acute facility partners. The System Director HB plans, directs, manages and organizes the work efforts of the Managers, Supervisors and staff and promotes an atmosphere that encourages individual and team development. The System Director HB ensures that departmental goals and objectives are developed and met in a timely and efficient manner. Incumbent will provide leadership with a service and quality focus to effectively deploy, manage, monitor, and adjust resources to meet cost, quality and regulatory objectives while meeting the System's strategic and operational objectives. Within UVMH, this individual works actively with Accounting, Compliance, Revenue Management, Health Information, Coding, Patient Access Services, Professional Billing, Customer Service and Information Services on revenue cycle issues. This position oversees the HB teams across UVMH, including sites in Vermont and New York.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Services or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Must process at least ten years of hospital experience with a minimum of five years of prior management experience in a multi-facility setting required. Familiarity with organizational structure, operational challenges and mission of an academic medical center is desirable. Experience in developing, implementing, and managing operational processes at a high level. Experience in business cycle redesign strongly recommended.

In January 2013, New York partners Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown joined the affiliation. In 2016, Alice Hyde Medical Center joined. The network was originally called Fletcher Allen Partners.
