Incumbent may be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant.

Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description:

  • The Licensed Practical Nurse assists with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. The LPN performs therapeutic nursing measures with accuracy, safety and efficiency consistent with current nursing standards.
  • Hourly Pay Range: minimum $22.82 to maximum $34.23.


Education and Skills Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Possess a current NYS License.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Previous experience as Licensed Practical Nurse preferred, with the ability to satisfactorily complete training program.
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, patient’s families, staff and management.
  • Highly motivated, able to work outside the normal working hours as volume demands.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Medical Assistant Job Description:

  • The Medical Assistant is responsible for patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider. Performs those direct care activities which are allowed to be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the New York State Education law Section 6530 (11), regulations, hospital policies and standards met by Nursing Services.
  • Hourly Pay Range: minimum $20.84 to maximum $31.26.
     

Education and Skills Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • 3 months experience in a physician office practice setting preferred.
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients, patient’s families, staff and management.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Highly motivated, able to work outside the normal working hours as volume demands.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • As applicable, the individual has training, competency in attending to the special needs and/or behavior appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being given.
  • Possess the ability to collaborate with other health personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Holds certification for Basic Life Support or willing to perform within first month of hire.
